Moraga Homes For Sale

Moraga is a small town of just a little over 16,000 residents located south of Orinda, and southwest of Lafayette.  Its  roots lie in early California Spanish rancho history.  Originally a site of cattle raising, farming and agricultural activities, it began to slowly emerge in the late 1920's and 1930's when St. Mary's College established itself in the valley, and homes came thereafter.

While many of the major growth and development came after 1960, the town has always set itself the goal of remaining true to its quiet, small town roots, and sharing fun and activities with neighbors. Its major activity center is an old estate which has been updated to host civic and commercial events in an historic atmosphere--The Hacienda de los Flores. It  is the center of many yearly events.  In September, 2014, the city celebrated its 40th anniversary incorporation there, at the annual Pear and Wine Festival.

Additional home town events include the Cinco de Mayo Celebration, and the Oktoberfest-which combines German food and beverages with Halloween fun.

In addition to the educational excellence of neaby St. Mary's College, the city's schools are highly rated and very active in raising funds to make the school experience even more impressive.
