Tomorrow morning, September 28th, many Piedmont families and their friends will be participating in the 2013 PUSD Wellness Center Fall Fest 5k Run. This "just right" sized run is ideal for children as well as seniors. Additionally, participants can run or walk the route.
To encourage a wide range of entrants, the top 3 male and female finishers in each age category will be receiving medals, and additionally, there will be prizes for overall first 3 male and first 3 female finishers. There are a broad range of categories, beginning with age 8 and under, and moving on up to runners 60+years old.Â
Starting at 8:30 a.m. from Piedmont Community Center, the route of the race is designed to take runners along streets that feature some of the most beautiful and historic Piedmont homes. The route include homes along Wildwood, Sea View and Craig. The good news for many families is that they can bring their family dog. Strollers are welcome as well, but both dogs and strollers will have to begin towards the back of the starting area behind the runners and walkers.Â
Awards will be presented at the end of the race in Piedmont Park. If you are interested, come early. Onsite registration and racer check-in opens at 7:00 a.m. on race day. Fees to enter are $30 for runners 12 and up and $20 for ages 11 and under.Â
