Oakland has always a diverse city but never more so than now. There are now three different homes in Oakland listed for $45,000 and less and 3 homes listed for more than $3.5 million. One of the Million dollar listings has breathtaking views of Oakland, San Francisco as well as the $33,000 home in the flat lands, though you might need a telescope to see it.
1504 92nd is a cute 2 bedroom 1 bath bungalow that is listed at $33,000. This same home would sell for 10 times this amount and more in many Oakland neighborhoods but as they say, ' location, location, location". In reading the MLS further, the $33,000 listing price is actually the opening bid at auction later in the month but I will keep you posted for what it actually sells for.
Another house on Tunis Rd is listed at $34,000. It is a 3 bedroom 1 bath but the house has been stripped down to the studs on the inside and they already have over 15 offers! I have mentioned before how many people are investing in the Oakland market and I see multiple offers on many of the cheaper listings. So if you want a cheap house in Oakland you better be quick.
On the other end of the spectrum we have 3 houses listed for $3.5 Million or more, topping out at $4,388,000 for a 7 bedroom 7 bathroom 9000 sq ft home in the Oakland hills.
It is obviously a beautiful place and a world away from the streets of the flatlands.
So if you had $4,388,000 laying around you can buy the mansion or buy 132 of the other homes in the flat lands and be a landlord.
