Jeremy Bowers was warmly welcomed by more that 200 people from local and area police officers and officials who attended his swearing in as the new Piedmont Chief of Police on February 6th at the Piedmont Community Hall.  Sworn in by City Clerk John Tulloch, and in the presence of his wife Tricia, and his three children Jordan, Andre and Anjali, he received his chief badge amid rousing applause by all attending.

Bowers replace retiring  Piedmont Police Chief Rikki Geode in November of last year, and arrived with a solid 18 years of experience at various ranks in the San Jose Police Department, part of which included 6 years as a beat officer.  He is committed to continuing the four point anti-crime programs begun by Geode, and to develop more community involvement in the needs of the city.  He wants to see the Neighborhood Watch program expand to help meet these needs.

He encourages residents to stay in contact with the department, and is creating opportunities for this interaction now, and for the future.
