About Hayward, CA

Hayward is currently the home to many large corporations, and is hosting many new high tech industries that are attracting new residents every year.  Kaiser Permanente has been growing streadily ,and is now the largest employer in the area.  Also unique to the Hayward/Union City corridor is the presence of the Hayward Executive Airport, and the corporate amenities that it offers.  Nearby Southland Mall is a large draw for shoppers looking for the  wide variety of products from its anchor stores like Macy's, Sears, J.C. Penny, Kohl's and more.

Another ever growing landmark is California State University, East Bay.  Visible from much of the city, it sits high atop the hills, and is one of the best universities in the Cal State system, drawing students from all the many cities surrounding its campus.  It is the second largest employer in the city, and nearby Chabot Community College adds to the educational foundation of the area.  

Nearby recreational areas abound in the area surrounding Hayward.  The East Bay Regional Park, Lake Chabot, Don Castro Regional Recreation Area, and The Hayward Regional Shoreline Center offer opportunities to hike, picnic, view trees or the bay, depending on your interests.
