There comes a time, when you, as the seller, must seriously evaluate the impression that your home will make on potential buyers.  Once you put it on the market, people will want to consider your home as a potential future home for their family, so it is important that you make the best possible impression on them.

Remember, before we put your Montclair or Piedmont home on the market, we will spend some serious time discussing the ways to put your home's best foot forward, but keep in mind that there are some very simple and inexpensive things to consider:

1. Maintain your landscaping, plants, and shrubs.  Keep them trimmed and free of debris around their base.  Install flowers where practical.

2. Sweep and scrub driveways, decks, front porches, and if necessary, your sidewalk.  Make a good first impression on the way to the door!

3. Always wash your windows inside and out.  It just seems to brighten everything up.

4. Inside your home, make sure that you have dusted, vacuumed and mopped regularly.  It would be ideal if you could do so before an Open Home or Brokers Tour, if work and family schedules permit.

5. Keep bathroom tubs, showers and sinks super clean.

6. Organize your personal items as much as possible.  Put away stacks of anything-magazines, personal mail, children's toys, etc..

This are just a few suggestions.  I will have more as we prepare for the sale.
