The much anticipated Brooklyn Basin is moving steadily towards completion.  As indicated in previous blogs, we have committed to keeping you up to date as to the latest progress.  We have chronicled the development to date in a visual presentation below.

As a reminder as to what is coming, here is a brief summary:

a. Thirteen Buildings of Residential Housing -both high and low rise-for a total of 3100 units.

b. Sixty to seventy percent of these units will be homes for sale, and be a mix of condominiums, live work loft spaces, townhouses, and luxury condos.

c. Thirty of the sites 65 acres will provide a mix of retail shops and restaurants that will be combined with delightful public parks and walkways for both residents and visitors to enjoy.  To add to the waterside charm, there will be 200 boat slips available.

      LATEST PROGRESS THROUGHOUT THE DEVELOPMENT

Just south of Oakland's Jack London Square, and off Highway 880 South, is the much anticipated Brooklyn Basin.  This sweeping entry reveals the first of the many food and retail centers that will become available, and also provides an expansive view of the progress of the upcoming residential housing opportunities.

This impressive structure (once the historic 9th Street Terminal) has been dramatically updated to include Rocky's Market-a gourmet grocery store and restaurant-and California Canoe and Kayak, a retail shop and kayak rental site.

The rear of the terminal site features this expansive dining deck and a shading overhead roof.  Just beyond, and to the right, is the distinctive  entertainment venue where a wide variety of music, dancing and singing events are available year round.

On the water side of the restaurant pavilion, is this wide promenade that extends the length of the building to the entryway.  What a delightful opportunity for an afternoon stroll after lunch.

Also currently in place is this huge waterfront expanse which is part of Township Common Park, and only part of the projected walkways and trails due to be completed.

Directly across from the terminal site are two completed multi-floor luxury apartment complexes.  The first, seen here, is called Orion, and offers 241  apartments of various sizes, and generous amenities.

The handsome entry to Orion reflects the welcoming and the imaginative atmosphere of the entire complex.

Close by, the other major luxury apartment building-Artizan-is  completed, and taking applications for leasing.  It, too, is an exciting amenity-filled living space of 241 units.

Leasing opportunities for the wide variety of shops and restaurants that are coming have gotten underway, as seen here.

Just south of the property are some public berths for private vessels, but the illustration of the entire venture, seen above,  reveals the projection of 200 berths of boating opportunities for both visitors, and long term rentals that will be developed, and will surround the entire project.

Returning to the entrance, one can see that the development is proceeding in a steady and confident manner.  Each day moves this dramatic venture forward.
