Piedmont Connect is a valuable source of a wide variety of environmental information. Â The best summary of what it does is reading its own self definition: "A Community Group Supporting Local Efforts Toward Environmental Sustainability in Piedmont California". Â
Â
It organizes it efforts among four specific areas of focus.  The first is the Garden and Landscape Group , which holds events and activities oriented around Garden Tours, Harvest Exchanges, School Garden Support, Native Plants, Habitat Restoration and Gardening Support Groups.
Â
Another group, The Energy and Building Group, presented a comprehensive community presentation last October, 2016 on ways to reduce a home's carbon footprint, and lower water usage.Â
Â
Two other groups offer additional information and opportunities. Â The first is The Green Transportation Interest Group, and The Waste Reduction Interest Group. Â
Â
All of these groups work together to inform and educate residents about the many options they have to work towards the best practices for environmental sustainability. Membership in any or all of these groups is encouraged and welcomed. Interested? Â Click on the link above for further information.Â
