    Piedmont residents are especially lucky to have Piedmont Center For The Arts just moments from their home.  Located at 801 Magnolia Avenue, it is a vital artistic venue.   The year has barely begun, and presentations there have already included SonoMusette: Songs of 20th Century Paris, Love Lines performed by Stagebridge Theater which included stories, and songs based on love and Valentine's Day, and the Berkeley Symphony and Friends Concert.  The variety of musical and theatrical opportunities available is truly amazing, and there is more to come as the year progresses. Jeremy Bowers was warmly welcomed by more that 200 people from local and area police officers and officials who attended his swearing in as the new Piedmont Chief of Police on February 6th at the Piedmont Community Hall.  Sworn in by City Clerk John Tulloch, and in the presence of his wife Tricia, and his three children Jordan, Andre and Anjali, he received his chief badge amid rousing applause by all attending.  

Bowers replace retiring  Piedmont Police Chief Rikki Geode in November of last year, and arrived with a solid 18 years of experience at various ranks in the San Jose Police Department, part of which included 6 years as a beat officer.  He is committed to…

  Last Saturday, February 4th, The Piedmont Community Church Gym was the site of some very exciting all day competitions, as the 50th Annual Piedmont Pinewood Derby was held.  The pinewood derby is one of the most popular family activities in Boy and Girl Scouting, where scouts of all ages are encourage to create small, but speedy, model wooden racing cars of various configurations. These cars are then raced against each other down a gravity track to decide whose was the fastest. The races are arranged so that similar age groups compete against each other.
