Piedmont and Oakland Homes Sale Prices Are Trending Up

In a very recent survey by DataQuick, it was revealed that current 2014 home prices in most cities in the East Bay were trending upwards compared to the same point in time in 2013.

While there are many causes, many of them seasonal, and some reflecting both national and local financial issues, there is no doubt that there has been a change.  Most real estate professionals have seen it as well.  Homes that have been placed on the market at a competitive price, have been receiving many, many offers, and the final sales prices have been driven upwards as a result.

There one major reason for this change, and that is the dramatic lack of housing stock.  There simply are not enough homes on the market to accommodate this season's home buyers.  Many…

Piedmont's Independence Day Parade-Come Join The Fun!

It is just a few days away-the annual Independence Day Parade in downtown Piedmont.  Make plans to bring comfortable seating, family and friends, and watch the passing parade.  The parade will start at 11:00 a.m. at the corner of Highland Avenue and Park Way.  One of the major appeals about the parade is that city neighborhoods and various community organizations are invited to enter to participate at no fee.  As a result, lots of Piedmont neighbors and imaginative floats will be passing by. 

Favorite and returning entries will include The Piedmont Community Band, the Balloon Platoon, The Barrelhouse Jazz Band, The Pinto Rangers, Critters By The Bay, The Zenith New Orleans Parade Band, and the Raiderettes.  But that's not all.  As is expected…
