If you have not yet discovered the family friendly First Friday events at the Oakland Museum of California, (OMCA), you are in for a treat.  Where else can you combine food, fun, music and stunning arts and history in one place?  Young or old, there is something for you to see and do.

While the theme changes each Friday, the basic format is the same.  You can count on listening to, and dancing to, live music from different Bay area groups.  The musical variety is amazing, and has included New Orleans, Funk, Salsa, Cuban, and more. On Saturday and Sunday, October 25th and 26th, from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the Oakland Zoo will be holding it's annual "Boo At The Zoo" event, which is always a popular time for families to enjoy the Zoo, and participate in Halloween activities at the same time.  This year, the program will be supplemented by the Bay Area Science Festival, who promise to add a scientific spin to many of the events.     Costumes are encouraged for everyone, and all children in costume from 2 to 14 years of age, will receive a free spooky train ride ticket.  To encourage costumes still more, there will be a costume parade at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. with Roosevelt, the Zoo mascot.
